A joint view on commedia dell'arte

The picture gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts and the Theatermuseum jointly present a selection of exquisite exhibits by fleming painter Jan Miel (1599–1664) and Italian theatre architect and stage designer Lodovico Ottavio Burnacini (1633-1707) on the topic of the Commedia dell’arte.

Arlecchino's Ancestors

Theatre performance with Claudia Contin Arlecchino, music by Luca Fantinutti. The Commedia dell’arte is known as a unique form of theatre representing distinct human types and masks. The performance spans the spectrum from Dante Alighieri's „Alichino“ and the „Wilde Men“ of the French Charivaris to Hieronymus Bosch and Lodovico Ottavio Burnacini.
